Where does the time go??

Where does the time go??

Usually I post kind of early on Mondays…

somehow, time got away from me today – it’s after noon and I’ve been going non-stop!  OK, I’ll admit, a part of me was procrastinating… I couldn’t really think of anything in particular I wanted to write about!  Another confession – I tend to procrastinate in order to “allow myself” to half-ass whatever it is I’m procrastinating on and that way if it’s not perfect, well, I didn’t have “time” to do it.  Sounds a bit twisted don’t you think?  Especially when I actually put it into words – like really Erin? What the hell is that all about??

It comes down to fear.

What? Super mom/woman/writer/blogger/coach gets scared? Hell yeah I do.  This adventure of coaching is really freaking scary! Because it’s so powerful.  I’ve been doing some soul-searching and realized that I’m scared of the power I have.

We are creators – and that’s pretty f-ing powerful.

For crap’s sake – I’ve grown 3 human beings and pushed them out of my body. AND they’ve made it this far as relatively healthy, happy, productive citizens (knock on wood).  Like, that’s a big deal!!!  I’ve also made it 35 years without being picked off by my own parents (who I’m sure could understand why some animals eat their young with my shenanigans of about 16/17 years old), or any number of other horrid endings that could have been my demise. I’ve created a business, a home, a life for my family… (although it may not be all sunshine and rainbows and unicorn farts of golden glitter, it’s pretty dang good!)

Why are we afraid of our power?

On some level, we don’t feel we deserve this power.  Like “who am I to have _(insert your want here)__”. And realize – there is a difference between wanting something, and feeling we deserve it! (I’m not going into entitlement here-that’s a whole other post!).

How can we begin to feel deserving?

Start your day with a little gratitude…  If you can name 3 things you’re grateful for before you get up to pee, you have a very rich life, my dear.  Unless you REALLY have to go, then you can be grateful while you’re on the pot, and you’re still pretty darn rich! 🙂

How about you?

  1. I write. I have always written fiction and used to journal which I really need to get back into. You are motivating me to learn to refocus some of my energies on myself for change. So thanks for that!
