Full moon tonight

Oh joy – a full moon.

I don’t know about you, but I totally understand where the word “lunatic” came from.  I’m feeling blah, and discontented, and anxious, and excited, and optimistic, all at the same time.  On edge is how I can best describe it… (even writers have trouble finding the words sometimes).  I’m sure there are fancy rituals and all kinds of “woo-woo” things some folks do during the new moon and full moon.  I’ll admit – I’m a little “woo”.  I’ll set the lovely stones my good friend K. gave me on the widow sill tonight to absorb the moon’s light.  Heck, it can’t hurt, right?!  🙂  The stones are to protect me from negative energy and to attract positive energy.  Who doesn’t need some of that juju?

So many are full of gratitude with the Thanksgiving season.

I really try to practice an attitude of gratitude most of the time (although my hubby may say different!) 😉  It really is amazing how when you change your perspective you can truly find more peace.  In fact, the holidays can bring so much stress, anything to help lessen that outcome is golden.  Many times it’s being around your biological/marital family.  They can sometimes be the biggest triggers of all for our insecurities, grudges, irritations, and jealousies.

Personally, we’re making plans to visit our good friends in another state for Thanksgiving.  I’m in a place in my life where I can choose whom to be around, and who better than those I’ve chosen as family to spend a few days cooking, catching up, (lots of coffee) and enjoying the season of thanks with?

Just like the full moon’s illumination & the leaves changing for the coming season –

I’m finding my voice, finding my way, and making a change.  I’m trying to learn from the lessons I’ve been taught, and be better for them.  It’s time to make my own path, even if it’s uncomfortable and different from what’s “always been done that way”.

Your turn –

I’d LOVE to hear your holiday plans!  Are you spending it with biological or chosen family? Are you starting or continuing any traditions?  What is it that has happened FOR you – to be the best version of you?  Leave a comment on my facebook page, or send me an email!
