Reflections

Everyone seems to use the last few weeks of December to reflect on the past year, and make goals for the coming year.  Since I have a December birthday (15th) it’s a double-whammy as I reflect not just on the calendar year, but on the last year of my existence.

There’s been some grand stuff, and some not-so-grand stuff. But in all, I’m happier this year than I was last year, so that’s saying a lot.  I believe that we are much happier when we’re following our dreams.  Not the dreams of anyone else mind you (parents, spouse, children) but OUR dreams.

Is it hard?  Hell yeah it is.  Starting this blog and my coaching business has had me looking in the mirror and putting myself out there to the great big world in ways I’d never imagined.  I have opportunities to look at my own subconscious beliefs, and help other women uncover their own – and in the end, I’ll have made a difference.

Isn’t that really what we all want?

To know our time here mattered?

It doesn’t take being CEO of your company, getting a Masters Degree, or any other title to make a difference.  It’s the little things.  The time you spend with your kids, the smile you give to someone on the street, holding the door for a mom who’s up to her eyeballs in snot from the toddler who’s overdue for their nap (cuz we remember those days)…

And it matters when people help us.  My husband mopped after I vacuumed – super helpful.  The kids helping to put the groceries away.  The person who held the door because we were up to our eyeballs in snot from the toddler who’s overdue for their nap 🙂

That’s what matters.

Keep the gratitude flowing as we move into 2017.  I can’t tell you enough how simply focusing on what you have, and having gratitude for the good stuff in life can change your perception.  It really is life-changing.

As for the goals – well, I’ve got a challenge brewing for late January/early February – you know, when people are starting to fall off the wagon for their resolutions.  It’s going to be easy, fun, and will open your eyes and heart – I hope you’ll join me!

Over to you – what is something someone recently done that mattered to you?  What have you done lately to make a difference to someone else?  Share your stories, and the love!

I’d love to hear what’s going on in your life – is there something you need some help with?  I offer complimentary coaching calls to help you get unstuck.  Contact me and we’ll chat.
