Am I skinny yet?

I took a core class at the gym last Thursday.

I truly felt like I was going to die during the class. It was AN HOUR. That’s a long time to be working on muscles that haven’t worked that hard since giving birth in 2010 to my youngest.  I talked about it in my inaugural episode of “WTF Wednesday” on my Facebook page. (Which by the way will be my weekly live video chatting about the random stuff showing up in my life to make me say ‘what the f’?)

I did feel skinnier the next day.

Ok, maybe I wasn’t actually smaller around the middle than I was the day before, but it felt like things were a little tighter…  And although I was sore as hell, it was a good kind of sore.  Like I’d accomplished something. I was hoping I would wake up a size 10 (psshhhh) – but alas.

I have to keep at it if I want to see real results.

(Damn it.)

As much as we would like to have magic wands to make us thinner, or our homes cleaner, or our kids better behaved in the grocery store… some things just take some time and some work.  I know, it’s not fair!

We wouldn’t learn so much on the way if we just got everything without having to put in some work.

Think about the things you’re most grateful for.  They probably weren’t just given to you.  You had to DO something to get them.  Your kids – your material things, your job… It’s about give and take.  You put in some work and you get to reap the benefits.  (and yes, even when the kid is throwing a fit in the middle of the store, and it’s hard to remember that you love them – you do. You’re grateful for the little monsters.)

Today’s tidbit – put in a little work.  Give it a good try for a few days and see what changes.

I have a thing with 3’s – and I found that when I quit smoking – once I got through those first 3 days, it got easier.  I’m giving this core workout thing 3 weeks (it’s a once/week class) before I decide if it’s something I want to continue with.  Maybe you want to try focusing on the positives for a few days, or saying only nice things to your hubs for the next 3 hours. 🙂

And, since it’s a full moon – let some shit go.

I don’t claim to be an astrologer, but I do know things get whack-a-do around the moon.  I wrote about it in this older blog post actually.

But the point is – it’s a great time to let go of the things that aren’t serving you, and setting intentions to call in what will.  Hey – it’s worth a try – and here’s a printable worksheet you can use to write it out if ya want!

Be easy on yourself – nobody’s perfect. And as long as you’re doing your best, and open to learning a little more, and doing a little better – you’re a step ahead of a lot of folks.  <3
